Larry Michael Lee, a founding member of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 78. His death was announced by the band on May 11, 2025.
Born on January 5, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, Lee was instrumental in shaping the band's signature country-rock sound. He co-wrote several of their notable songs, including "Jackie Blue," which became their biggest commercial hit.
Lee's contributions to music extended beyond the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. He was also a solo artist and collaborated with various musicians throughout his career. His passing marks a significant loss in the music community, particularly for fans of the 1970s country-rock movement.
